Survival: (FREE Bonus Included) How To Disappear Without a Trace, Find Food, Shelter and Water in Any Wilderness The idea of 'survival of the fittest' is an idea that is taught in many schools. The mindset behind it states that the one that is most fit to survive is the one that is going to make it through the peril. While this may be true in theory, there is a major flaw in the idea... it leaves too much up to chance. You see, survival isn't something that is chance, it is something that is entirely based on skill, knowledge, and your ability to handle difficult situations. So, if the person who knows these things is the person in the wilderness, then they truly are the "most fit" and are going to greatly increase their own chances of survival. Do you want to be that person? Do you want to know that you can handle whatever life throws your way without a shadow of a doubt? Do you want to know for sure that you are going to be able to take on the world as it comes and survive in any kind of situation you find yourself in? If so, you have come to the right place. This book is going to teach you exactly what you need to do to survive, no matter where you are or what kind of situation you find yourself in. Learn how to use the basics to find the basics, and learn how to make and create out of what you have on hand. Let this book mold you and evolve you. Let this book make you fittest to survive. Learn how to assess your situation and choose how to survive Learn how to use the things you have on hand to give yourself confidence in survival Learn how to use the things you find around you in practical and helpful ways And more! These one hundred deadly skills, which all rely on low-tech or "no-tech" tools (because complicated instructions are the last thing you need when facing imminent peril), include creating an every day carry kit; evading an ambush; escaping an automobile trunk; defeating handcuffs; making an improvised gas mask; disabling digital tracking devices; tricking facial recognition software; winning a knife fight; and surviving a grenade attack.--COVER.

When the fishing vessel La Conte sinks suddenly at night in one-hundred-mile-per-hour winds and record ninety-foot seas during a savage storm in January 1998, her five crewmen are left to drift without a life raft in the freezing Alaskan waters and survive as best they can. One hundred fifty miles away, in Sitka, Alaska, an H-60 Jayhawk helicopter lifts off from America's most remote Coast Guard base in the hopes of tracking down an anonymous Mayday signal. A fisherman's worst nightmare has become a Coast Guard crew's desperate mission. As the crew of the La Conte begin to die one by one, those sworn to watch over them risk everything to pull off the rescue of the century. Spike Walker's memoir of his years as a deckhand in Alaska, Working on the Edge, was hailed by James A. Michner as "masterful . . . will become the definitive account of this perilous trade, an addition to the literature of the sea." In Coming Back Alive, Walker has crafted his most devastating book to date. Meticulously researched through hundreds of hours of taped interviews with the survivors, this is the true account of the La Conte's final voyage and the relationship between Alaskan fishermen and the search and rescue crews who risk their lives to save them.

ÊIf my present reader happens to be a Boy Scout or a scout-master who wants the scouts to build a tower for exhibition purposes, he can do so by following the directions here given, but if there is real necessity for haste in the erection of this tower, of course we cannot build one as tall as we might where we have more time. With a small tower all the joints may be quickly lashed together with strong, heavy twine, rope, or even wire; and in the wilderness it will probably be necessary to bind the joints with pliable roots, or cordage made of bark or withes; but as this is not a book on woodcraft we will suppose that the reader has secured the proper material for fastening the joints of the frame of this signal-tower and he must now shoulder his axe and go to the woods in order to secure the necessary timber. First let him cut eight straight polesÑthat is, as straight as he can find them. These poles should be about four and one half inches in diameter at their base and sixteen and one half feet long. After all the branches are trimmed off the poles, cut four more sticks each nine feet long and two and a half or three inches in diameter at the base; when these are trimmed into shape one will need twenty six or seven more stout sticks each four and one half feet long for braces and for flooring for the platform.

The New York Times bestseller that reveals the safety, security, and survival techniques that 99% of Americans don’t know—but should When Jason Hanson joined the CIA in 2003, he never imagined that the same tactics he used as a CIA officer for counter intelligence, surveillance, and protecting agency personnel would prove to be essential in every day civilian life. In addition to escaping handcuffs, picking locks, and spotting when someone is telling a lie, he can improvise a self-defense weapon, pack a perfect emergency kit, and disappear off the grid if necessary. He has also honed his “positive awareness”—a heightened sense of his surroundings that allows him to spot suspicious and potentially dangerous behavior—on the street, in a taxi, at the airport, when dining out, or in any other situation. In his engaging and empowering book Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life, Jason shares this know-how with readers, revealing how to: • prevent home invasions, carjackings, muggings, and other violent crimes • run counter-surveillance and avoid becoming a soft target • recognize common scams at home and abroad • become a human lie detector in any setting, including business negotiations • gain peace of mind by being prepared for anything instead of uninformed or afraid With the skill of a trained operative and the relatability of a suburban dad, Jason Hanson brings his top-level training to everyday Americans in this must-have guide to staying safe in an increasingly dangerous world.
